Environmental Worker performs moderate to heavy manual work and housekeeping tasks on an assigned shift in a hospital setting. Employees in this classification assist in the maintenance of the hospital.

• Vacuum and sweep, mop, and wet wash floors daily.
• Clean assigned patient and non‑patient care areas.
• Collect and transport trash, clean and re‑line trash containers with plastic bags.
• Maintain soap, paper towel, and toilet paper dispensers.
• Empty sharp boxes.
• Place gowns in designated storage areas as needed.
• Defrost and cleanse assigned refrigerators on a bi‑weekly schedule.
• Daily dusting of all countertops and shelves inside/outside; wipe cabinets.
• Complete cleaning of discharge patient units as vacancies occur.
• Monitor delivery of laundry for assigned units.
• Utilize detergents, disinfectants, polishes, finishes, etc. in accordance with guidelines.
• Clean all isolates, warmers, IMED pumps, monitors, bill lights and related equipment upon patient discharge.

• Perform all related job duties as assigned.
