The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) is Florida's chief health policy and planning entity. The Agency administers the Florida Medicaid program, licensure and regulation of nearly 50,000 health care facilities, and empowers consumers through health care transparency initiatives. Under the direction of the Agency Secretary, AHCA is focused on advancing Governor DeSantis’s vision for Florida’s health care system to be the most cost-effective, transparent, and high-quality system in the nation.

The Medicaid program provides low‑income families and individuals with access to health care.

Position Overview

This role provides full‑time customer service to a high‑volume Contact Center within the Bureau of Medicaid Recipient and Provider Assistance (RPA). Responsibilities include answering recipient and provider questions regarding Medicaid covered services, providing Choice Counseling for Managed Care programs, making referrals, maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of the Florida Medicaid program, and meeting established contact center performance measures. This is a non‑remote, full‑time position, paid $21.00 per hour.

Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of detailed Medicaid policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Statewide Medicaid Managed Care programs.
  • Knowledge of Contact Center policies and procedures, including Choice Counseling.
  • Familiarity with computer systems such as Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, and other programs.
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, and ability to explain complex information.
  • Efficient time management, organization, and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Professional interpersonal skills in both one‑on‑one and group settings.
  • Professional telephony skills in a high call volume setting.
  • Proficient typing and keyboarding skills.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and adhere to confidentiality requirements.
  • Follow instructions, learn and apply knowledge, adapt to change, maintain professional relationships, and travel as required.
Minimum Qualifications

Two years of experience providing a professional level of customer service in a fast‑paced, consumer‑centric environment.

Preferences

Moderate to extensive experience with Excel, Outlook, Word, and quick, accurate typing. Six months experience in Project Management.
