Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technician for a 13‑week travel assignment in Aventura, Florida. Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Technician
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- One of the following certifications: ARRT, RCES, or RCIS
- Current ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Valid radiologic technologist license in compliance with state regulations
- Certificates such as PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC
- Other relevant certifications and licenses may be required
The Cath Lab Technologist assists in all aspects of cardiac catheterization, including patient preparation, equipment operation, and sterile field maintenance. The role demands technical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to work efficiently under high‑pressure situations.
Essential Work Functions- Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, and electrophysiology studies.
- Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents; operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
- Scrub and support sterile field setup, ensuring infection control compliance.
- Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs.
- Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and proper storage of sterile instruments.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols, using lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Critical thinking and excellent interpersonal communication.
- Proficiency in reading and following written and verbal instructions; basic PC skills.
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Professionalism and the capacity to work effectively with diverse personnel.
- Fine motor skills for manipulation, pushing/pulling, and moving equipment during procedures.
- Ability to cope with frequent public interaction and meet deadlines under pressure.
