The Physical Therapist (PT) provides high-quality, patient-centered care by managing the complete process of therapeutic care of an assigned group of patients in coordination with the physician and the patient care team.
- Provide evaluations and treatment interventions within scope of practice.
- Assess and evaluate therapeutic/rehabilitative/functional status and develop the total plan of care.
- Provide therapeutic care in patients’ homes, using procedures and techniques to effect change in condition/function.
- Instruct patient/family/caregiver in therapies, exercises, therapeutic appliances and/or prosthetic devices for use outside therapy sessions.
- Prioritize caseload, determine daily staffing needs and coordinate assignments and handoffs.
- (LPT) Licensed Physical Therapist.
- Bachelor's Degree (or higher).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment.
HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488‑bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission and offers a wide range of medical specialties. It is a CARF accredited inpatient rehabilitation facility and a Primary Stroke Center.
