Our client, Four Seasons Yachts, is launching their fleet of luxury yachts, preparing to set sail within the next few weeks. We are seeking an self-starter, solutions oriented, Senior Accountant to help build and support our finance function in an exciting, high-growth environment. This role will report to the Director, Accounting and be a key contributor as we navigate the unique complexities of launching a new luxury yachting line.
Job SummaryThe Senior Accountant will play a critical role in supporting our accounting, finance, and treasury functions. This dynamic position requires a candidate with strong technical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a willingness to adapt as the company scales. The successful candidate must thrive in a startup setting, demonstrating flexibility, enthusiasm, and commitment to our mission.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and, where applicable, IFRS standards.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of general ledger accounts and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the Controller and Director, Accounting to support external audits/accounting consultants and provide documentation as needed.
- Actively participate in the Accounts Payable (AP) process by setting up vendors, entering and reviewing invoices, creating and approving Purchase Orders, and processing payments in accordance with company policies.
- Financial Analysis & Budgeting:
- Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes, helping to develop financial models for cash flow and operational expenditures.
- Analyze financial performance, including variance analysis, to provide insights that support business decision-making.
- Treasury & Cash Management:
- Manage daily cash activities, monitor cash balances, and perform bank reconciliations.
- Support the setup and maintenance of bank accounts, credit lines, and other banking relationships.
- Assist in managing investments and cash reserves in alignment with the company’s treasury policies.
- Start-Up Responsibilities:
- Participate in system implementations and process improvements to optimize operational efficiencies.
- Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures as we scale.
- Support cross-functional projects and provide financial expertise in a fast-changing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a combination of accounting, finance, and/or treasury roles. Experience in a startup, hospitality, cruise, or luxury industries is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, with experience in IFRS standards a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting/budgeting software;
Oracle Net Suite and/or Hyperion Essbase experience is a plus. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in a team environment.
