Financial Manager, Accounting & Finance

You will be part of a team whose purpose is to develop and sell the best, most innovative sun protective UPF 50+ clothing and products for people who what to live an active, outdoor lifestyle safely in the sun.
In this process of development, each employee will work toward speaking to the customer, meeting their needs and anticipating their wants through levels of protection, supporting the development and sale of the best technical fabrics used in elegantly designed styles across the end user groups.
In this hands-on position, you will be a partner with the financial director and the leadership team to implement and refine processes and disciplines related to reporting, budgeting and internal controls and compliance. You will be also involved and/or leading various accounting operational functions, including month and year end and audit management. This position belongs to the 4 people finance team (AP, AR, Finance director and junior controller).
It reports directly to the financial director and works extensively with department heads and team members.
- Participate actively in the month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations and G/L analysis
- Lead with the management team, the production and monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
- Be involved in cash management and production of cash-flow reports, ensuring that cash needs are understood and met
- Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and methodologies to ensure accuracy, compliance and efficiency
- Become power user of SAP B1 ERP system’s accounting and finance functionality and reporting capabilities. Develop deep understanding of proper data setup and flow from other corporate teams to ensure systems continue to work appropriately as accounting functionality and data are directly impacted data and setup changes
- Evaluate new technical accounting developments and recommend appropriate actions.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Master in Finance, CPA are a plus
- 7+ years of financial (GAAP) accounting and reporting management experience
- 3+ years of progressive experience in reporting and financial analysis in an offline/online Retail & Wholesale demanding environment
- Ability to function as a builder of processes, systems and business understanding
- The ideal candidate should be highly scalable, possess excellent analytical, critical thinking and communication skills and strong financial systems knowledge
- Ability to work hands on in small and growing business where all managers wear multiple hats
- Strong Excel skills, with experience in SAP utilization and reporting programs, are a must have
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively balancing multiple concurrent assignments
