Senior Commercial Credit Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Credit Analyst to join our client within a banking institution. This individual will be responsible for performing in-depth financial analysis, assessing credit risk, and providing well-supported recommendations on complex commercial loan requests. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and underwriting experience across various commercial loan types, including C&I, CRE, and SBA.

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of middle-market and commercial borrowers, including review of financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections.
• Prepare detailed credit memos and underwriting packages with risk assessments and recommendations for approval.
• Evaluate collateral and perform loan structure analysis to ensure appropriate risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with relationship managers, loan officers, and portfolio managers on new and existing credit requests.
• Monitor borrower performance and identify early warning signs of credit deterioration.
• Assist in portfolio management, including renewals, modifications, and annual reviews.
• Ensure all analyses comply with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior analysts by reviewing work, sharing best practices, and providing technical guidance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA a plus.
• 5+ years of commercial credit analysis or underwriting experience in banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of C&I, CRE, and SBA lending.
• Proficiency with financial spreading software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
