Responsibilities
Responsible for gathering financial data needed for the preparation of financial statements assigned to the External Financial Reporting team. In addition, will assist with ticket resolutions, budget approvals, and documentation storage, following the department’s established processes and procedures.
Bank and Reconciliation support for the External Financial Reporting portfolio. Including the gathering and organization of large volumes of bank statements (partnered and non-partnered).
Ensure all documentation is properly stored and accessible for the External Financial Reporting portfolio of properties.
Upload, label, and maintain digital files in accordance with internal controls.
Create tickets for the resolution of significant variances (outstanding or unidentified transactions) for assigned properties.
Communicate timely to your supervisor and the property teams any potential issues that may affect the accuracy of the financial statements. Follow the departmental escalation process for ensuring resolution of these issues.
Approve association budgets according to and within the timeline required by department standards.
Assist GL Supervisors and Managers on accounting matters related to the External Financial Reporting portfolio.
Assist on special requests, ad hoc reporting, and projects as necessary.

Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory ResponsibilityNo supervisory responsibilities.
Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university, and minimum one to two years of experience as Staff Accountant in property management or in a full cycle accounting environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Detail oriented with multiple tasks and information organization.
Must have strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.
Willingness to ask questions and problem-solve.
Strong organizational skills and comfort handling high volumes of documentation.
Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and be self-driven
