Financial Analyst – UHealth Finance Department
Job Summary
The Financial Analyst compiles and analyzes financial information for the assigned division(s)/department(s) in an efficient and accurate manner. The incumbent assists management in decision‑making and strategic planning by presenting relevant financial reports in a clear, concise, and timely fashion.
- Prepare and coordinate documentation of financial analysis projects such as budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations.
- Identify trends and developments in competitive environments and present findings.
- Provide analytical support for forward‑looking financial or business‑related projects.
- Perform financial forecasting and reconcile accounts.
- Design and build various models summarizing different scenarios around growth and expansion initiatives or opportunities.
- Develop and maintain performance and productivity dashboards, models, or analyses.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze relevant data or metrics.
- Develop and maintain reports to support plans, business decisions, operational changes, strategic plans, and new services. Resolve any reporting issues.
- Make recommendations to align policies and procedures with best practices and capitalize on financial opportunities.
- Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Attitudes
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
- Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to prepare financial and accounting records.
- Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.
- Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely.
- Ability to manage a budget within its constraints.
Any relevant education, certifications, and/or work experience may be considered.
