Overview
Join HNTB as an Office Engineer II role. This opportunity involves working closely with the Contracts Support Manager to oversee the General Consulting Contract with the Miami Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Responsibilities include coordinating document and plans review submittals, monitoring reviews, managing project communications, and delivering HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: consistent quality work, on time, on budget, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Assist Resident Engineer / Project Manager in contract administration and interpret contract plans/specifications.
- Maintain as-built record drawings, project files, and database of specifications, test results, and reports.
- Keeps inspector's daily report of assigned work activities; review contractor's monthly schedule submittals and pay estimates.
- Coordinate testing and monitor services and quality-control inspections.
- Log, track, and process requests for information, submittals, change orders, and other deliverables.
- Prepare project progress reports, agendas, minutes; conduct pre-construction meetings; assist in final project closeout documents.
- Review inspector's daily reports for conformance with project requirements, plans, specifications, quantities, and contractor progress.
- Assist in reviewing, assembling, and processing monthly progress payments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2+ years relevant experience, or
- Master’s degree in Engineering and 1+ year relevant experience, or
- Doctorate degree in Engineering (any field).
- Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud (Docs/Build/Insight) and SharePoint Online.
- Project Controls experience or knowledge of cost estimating, scheduling, process writing, and workflow establishment.
- Experience managing controlled documentation in ACC and SharePoint, coordinating submittal workflows, enforcing QA for records.
- Strong communication skills and project controls skills.
- Document control experience; proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Understanding of contractual language for deliverables and payment methods.
- Ability to train project personnel on document control and record retention policies.
