We are supporting a well-established mechanical contractor in Miami in the search for a Preconstruction Mechanical Estimator
. This role is focused on commercial HVAC and mechanical estimating during the preconstruction and bidding phases.

The ideal candidate comes from a mid-size or large mechanical contractor and has hands-on experience estimating commercial mechanical/HVAC scopes. This is an on-site role that works closely with leadership and preconstruction teams.

• Support the mechanical estimating process for commercial construction projects, overseeing cost development for HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
• Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
• Perform quantity takeoffs, labor analysis, and material pricing
• Coordinate and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Support bid strategy, pricing decisions, and value engineering efforts

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• Proven experience in mechanical estimating for large, complex commercial or institutional construction projects
• Solid understanding and experience with HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems, including applicable codes and industry standards
• Ability to clearly present and explain cost data to leadership and project stakeholders
• Background with a mid-size or large mechanical contractor is required
• Experience coordinating and evaluating subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Strong skills in vendor coordination, pricing evaluation, and negotiation
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel
