We are looking to hire a Superintendent, Electrical  Superintendent, Electrical at Princess is responsible for overseeing the planning, maintenance, and lifecycle management of electrical systems across 4–6 assigned ships. This includes managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets, overseeing vendor services, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and classification standards. The role contributes to both short- and long-term asset planning, including dry dock preparation, system upgrades, and integration of emerging technologies.

Working closely with shipboard Chief Electrical Officer, Supply Chain, Hotel Refurbishment, and cross-functional departments, the Superintendent ensures timely execution of projects and alignment with HESS principles. They provide technical guidance, manage service agreements, and delegate operational tasks to technical coordinators or ship personnel as appropriate. The position requires regular ship visits to assess system performance, validate maintenance practices, and support decision-making for fleetwide initiatives.

Candidates should have at least five years of licensed shipboard experience, ideally as a Chief or 1st Electrical Officer on diesel-electric cruise vessels. A degree in electrical engineering or equivalent maritime experience, along with strong project management, communication, and analytical skills, is essential. Familiarity with AMOS, Microsoft 365, and data analytics tools is preferred. The Superintendent plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence and ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical assets across the fleet.

Responsibilities:

Electrical Asset Lifecycle Management:
The Superintendent, Electrical is accountable for the full lifecycle oversight of electrical systems across 4–6 assigned vessels. This includes evaluating asset condition, managing replacements, and ensuring alignment with long-term fleet strategies. They develop and maintain multi-year upgrade roadmaps, incorporating vendor input and internal assessments. The role requires proactive identification of obsolescence risks and opportunities for modernization. Partnering with the Asset Management Group ensures consistency in standards and practices across the Princess.

The Superintendent integrates environmental considerations and emerging technologies into asset planning. They assess the feasibility of extending asset life through maintenance or upgrades. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders ensures that electrical systems meet operational and strategic needs. The role also involves contributing to the development of global training content related to electrical systems. They provide technical input to support compliance with international electrical codes and regulatory frameworks.

All planning activities are documented and aligned with Corporate Governance and HESS principles.

Project Execution and Capital Expenditure:
This role leads the execution of assigned capital projects related to electrical systems, from concept through completion. The Superintendent creates and oversees the detailed specifications, scopes of work, and cost estimates for upgrades and modifications. They manage vendor engagement, ensuring timely delivery of services and materials in accordance with project timelines, including those related to Corporate and brand specific initiatives.

Coordination with Corporate functions like Supply Chain and Sourcing is essential to secure competitive pricing and logistical efficiency.
