Position: Senior Highway Design Project Manager

Location: Miami, FL

Salary Range: $160,000 - $220,000 Annually

Discipline / Area of Concentration: Highway Engineering

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FDOT, and Municipal (Green Book) design criteria, standards, and plan preparation requirements.
  • Expertise in horizontal and vertical alignment, drainage, maintenance of traffic, signing and pavement markings, and coordination with multiple disciplines (Signalization, Lighting, Utilities, Structures, ITS, Tolling).
  • Deep understanding of the full project development process.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to plan, manage, and deliver assignments across various project delivery methods.
Essential Functions Project Management
  • Implement project management processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Develop scopes of work and negotiate project fees.
  • Plan project tasks and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Manage project scope, identify additional services, and coordinate with clients for fee updates.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Oversee invoicing and support collection efforts when needed.
Engineering
  • Serve as Engineer of Record when required.
  • Develop engineering solutions that meet safety, scope, and client needs.
  • Execute quality control procedures to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Business Development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and former clients.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive outreach.
  • Participate in industry organizations and contribute to technical content as needed.
  • Lead or support business development pursuits, including strategy development, technical writing, presentations, and interviews.
Experience
  • Typically 20+ years of relevant highway engineering and project management experience.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex, multidisciplinary transportation projects.
Education & Licensure
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
