Controls Engineer – Control Systems

Miami, FL

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Controls Engineer who enjoys hands‑on work with advanced systems in a fast‑paced, technical environment. In this role, you’ll support and troubleshoot cutting‑edge automation technologies that power critical facilities across multiple industries. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, contribute directly to system reliability and performance, and gain exposure to a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and manage point‑to‑point wiring terminations, device checkouts, and drawing markups
  • Assist with setup and installation of field devices per project specifications and schematics
  • Calibrate instrumentation and valve actuators and support field start‑up activities
  • Execute checkout and start‑up of control systems (DCS, PLC, etc.) and network components
  • Troubleshoot control systems at the network, controller, I/O, and device levels
  • Set up, configure, and maintain PC‑based workstations in automation environments
  • Provide technical support for customer contracts, including preventive maintenance and emergency services
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering is preferred – Associate degree (HVAC, MET, EET) with 2+ years of relevant experience will be considered
  • Experience with DCS, PLC, HMI, and/or DDC systems (Exposure to Emerson Delta

    V, Wonderware, or Rockwell platforms is a plus)
  • Knowledge of communication protocols such as Ethernet, Modbus, and BACnet (serial/TCP)
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and system drawings
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work near high‑voltage electrical systems
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules based on project and customer needs
