About the RoleAs a Senior Project Engineer (SPE) at DeSimone Consulting Engineering, you’ll play a key role in managing and delivering structural and façade restoration projects from concept through construction. Partnering closely with Project Managers, you’ll lead technical design efforts, perform detailed structural analyses, oversee project execution in the field, and ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and client satisfaction. This role blends technical excellence, client engagement, and leadership development within a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Oversee and supervise project progress in both design and field phases.
- Perform structural analysis and prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Conduct quality control reviews of construction documents and assist with writing specifications.
- Prepare technical reports identifying the cause and source of structural or façade failures.
- Lead construction administration efforts, including review of shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Participate in meetings with clients, architects, and internal teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.
- Support project budgeting, scope, and scheduling while maintaining accurate labor and cost tracking.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and professional development support.
- BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in structural or façade engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress.
- Strong technical proficiency in Revit, RISA, ETABS, SAP, or related software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and maintain high quality standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven client‑facing experience.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
- Proactive, collaborative mindset and passion for problem‑solving and innovation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or related field with 7 years of experience in structural engineering with emphasis on building restoration; or
- Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or related field with 5 years of experience in structural engineering with emphasis on building restoration.
- Must be willing to obtain PE License.
- Knowledge of building codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI.
- Excellent planning and organizational experience.
- Highly motivated, proactive, collaborative team player, willing to take on new challenges.
- Periodic travel, primarily within the state.
- Professional Engineer’s (PE) License.
- Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT).

Our pay range represents the range of salaries or hourly rates we might be willing to pay for this role in Miami, Florida. The hiring salary range for this role is anticipated to be $88,000 – $95,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We expect to hire near the middle of the range, but may consider a higher end of the range for exceptional candidates.
