Generator Technician - Miami, Florida

• Maintain generators, diagnose and repair problems, install and replace components or entire systems, and perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out‑of‑season equipment.
• Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness, reading and following blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair.
• Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation.
• Respond promptly to power/generator alarms; be available for 24/7 on‑call duty and respond promptly to assigned phone and email.
• Perform work with awareness of all potential hazards connected with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment, using safety equipment and practices; attend all designated safety and training meetings.

Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.

• Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance is preferred and a minimum of one year of intense work‑related experience with generator and electrical maintenance‑related software, hardware, and processes.
• Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair of generators; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.

• This position requires lifting over 50 pounds, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods of time.
• Must be able to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly.
• Must be willing and able to drive long distances, work day, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays, and assume 24‑hour on‑call duty when assigned and be away from home for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
