School Counselor
Kingdom Academy | Miami, FL
Kingdom Academy is seeking a Christ-centered School Counselor to support the spiritual, emotional, and academic well-being of our students. The counselor will work closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to provide guidance, encouragement, and support that helps students grow both personally and academically.
This role focuses on helping elementary students develop healthy relationships, strong character, emotional awareness, and a biblical perspective as they navigate school and life.
Qualifications- Strong personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with biblical values
- Agreement with the mission and educational philosophy of Kingdom Academy
- Experience working with children in a counseling, education, or related setting preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and relational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and administration
- Provide individual and small group counseling to support students’ emotional, social, and spiritual development
- Help students navigate common childhood challenges such as friendships, behavior, family changes, and academic stress
- Work with teachers and administrators to identify and support students who may be struggling academically, emotionally, or socially
- Communicate with parents regarding student concerns and provide guidance when appropriate
- Observe students and help identify potential learning or developmental needs, referring families to outside services when necessary
- Maintain confidential student records and counseling documentation
- Provide crisis support when needed and assist with student conflict resolution
- Participate in student support meetings with administration and faculty
- Assist with student orientation and transitions when needed
- Support school initiatives that promote character development, biblical values, and healthy student relationships
- Provide occasional parent or student guidance presentations on topics such as friendship, emotional development, and digital responsibility
