Lower School Co‑Teacher (K–5th grade)

About the Position

St. Philip’s is seeking an experienced, passionate, and collaborative Lower School Co‑Teacher to join our teaching team. Co‑teachers play an important role in delivering engaging instruction, differentiating learning, and supporting the academic and social‑emotional growth of students. The ideal candidate is positive, collaborative, and knowledgeable about child development and best teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the mission of St. Philip’s Episcopal School by delivering high‑quality, student‑centered instruction
  • Collaborate with teaching teams to plan, deliver, and assess instruction in core subjects
  • Provide differentiated instruction to support diverse learners
  • Create a positive classroom culture using effective behavior management strategies
  • Support social‑emotional learning and student development
  • Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and families
  • Integrate educational technology to enhance learning experiences
  • Maintain accurate academic and communication records
  • Supervise students during school activities and assigned duties
  • Participate in faculty meetings and collaborative team activities
Qualifications
  • Deep respect and passion for working with children
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • 3+ years of classroom teaching experience (lower school experience preferred)
  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills
  • Experience differentiating instruction
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with students and families
  • Experience using educational technology and digital learning platforms
  • Understanding of child development and best practices in foundational literacy and numeracy instruction.

Compensation

Salary range: $50,000 – $70,000 based on experience and qualifications

Full‑time position
