KIPP has a 25-year track record of preparing students for success in college and life. Founded in 2018, KIPP Miami operates three nonprofit charter schools in Greater Miami’s Urban Core communities. Currently, KIPP Miami educates students in grades K-4 at KIPP Royalty Academy and middle school students KIPP Courage Academy with plans to open another elementary, middle and high school next year.

Job Description

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

At KIPP Miami, our front office is the heartbeat of the school community. We’re looking for a warm, organized, and solutions-oriented bilingual (Spanish-English) professional with strong customer service skills to serve as the first point of contact for students, families, and visitors. In this role, you’ll create a welcoming and joyful environment, respond to family needs with care and professionalism, and ensure the school runs smoothly each day.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Administrative responsibilities including answering door buzzers and phone calls, directing callers to the appropriate person or school, taking messages, and relaying messages to all entities
  • Greets visitors, determining their needs and providing accurate information or connecting them with the appropriate stakeholder
  • Handles family concerns and questions in a prompt and appropriate manner
  • Acts as a strong, positive day-to-day interface between the school community, representing our values, mission, and philosophy at all times
  • Serves as a strong, consistent force within the school as it relates to student discipline
  • Assists with student related issues in the absence or support of the office manager
  • Supports school-wide communication efforts including maintaining front office fliers and supporting preparation and distribution of school wide communications
  • Maintains accuracy of information systems including contact information, attendance, early and late pickup, bus ticket tracking, and own dismissal changes and communication of this information to stakeholders
  • Receives mail and deliveries and ensures items are appropriately distributed
  • Supports the operations team with school-wide projects and responsibilities
  • Maintains a clean, organized and well-functioning office environment
Qualifications

Must Have

Skills:

  • Deep belief in the mission of KIPP Miami and commitment to educational equity
  • Fluency in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally (written and verbal) in both languages
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly

Additional Information

The starting compensation for this full-time, non-exempt role is $18 per hour, equivalent to $37,740 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications. Salary ranges at KIPP are set based upon the role level and function using benchmarks in the education and non-profit sector and allow for growth within the role. Individual compensation will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: relevant professional experience and qualifications;

education, skills and training; and market conditions.
