Miami Union Adventist Academy (MUAA) is seeking a dynamic, innovative, and faith-centered High School Science Teacher to join our growing academic community. This role is more than teaching science—it is a calling to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for God’s creation within a Christ-centered learning environment.

The ideal candidate will primarily teach core high school science courses, including:

• Biology
• Physics

The Science Teacher will serve as a class sponsor, provide academic support through tutoring as needed, and actively participate in extracurricular programs. Faculty at MUAA are fully engaged in the life of the school—participating in staff worships, collaborative planning, professional development, and community-building activities.

Beyond classroom instruction, responsibilities include supervision duties, participation in recruitment efforts, and support of school-wide initiatives. MUAA is supported by a committed school board, surrounding constituent churches, and a forward-thinking conference office that is invested in strengthening Adventist education in the Miami area.

• Active Seventh-day Adventist teaching certification (or currently in the certification process)
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
• Experience teaching high school science courses
• Ability to conduct safe, structured, and meaningful laboratory experiences
• Knowledge of current best practices in science education
• Ability to integrate faith and learning in science instruction
• Comfortable with educational technology and digital lab tools
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Willingness to support after-school activities and extracurricular programs
• Engaging, clear, and confident instructional style
• A collaborative, “all-in” team-player attitude
• Commitment to Adventist Christian education and student spiritual development

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field is required
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Teaching certification required or in progress
• Practicing Seventh-day Adventist in good standing
• Demonstrated commitment to the holistic development of young people—academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally
• Experience teaching multiple science disciplines preferred
