Supports FIU's compensation program designed to attract and retain a talented workforce, and reward and retain staff for their contributions to the university. Develops working relationships with university business units, as well as community resources to facilitate compensation activities. Works in a team-based collaborative environment to meet dynamic and every changing customer needs.
- Supports the implementation of compensation and position classification activities associated with the Compensation Administration Department. Answers, screens, and routes incoming calls to the appropriate person or area.
- Reviews Fee for Services requests, payment for temporary and student personnel, and additional compensation for staff. Gathers data for these actions to ensure that they are in line with applicable policies and procedures. Works closely with the Assistant Director in providing recommendations to departments.
- Participates in salary surveys inquiries.
- Works closely with the Assistant Director in matters pertaining to system updates, testing, and maintenance.
- Reviews and analyzes position description changes that include postings/salary actions/updates, salary adjustments, and one-time payments for assigned unit(s). Provides recommendations to units on compensation actions.
- Works closely with the Assistant Director on special assignments.
- Works closely with the Assistant Director in maintaining the departmental and university wide organizational charts.
