The Department of Physics at Florida International University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Condensed Matter Physics, beginning in Fall 2026.
We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related field and strong record of research in experimental or theoretical condensed matter physics with an emphasis on solid state physics, who are committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Postdoctoral experience is preferred. The successful applicant is expected to establish an independent, externally funded research program and contribute to the department
¿ s educational mission.
We especially encourage applicants whose research interests intersect with quantum information science, including areas such as quantum materials, quantum computing, and related emerging technologies.
The Department of Physics hosts active research groups in astronomy & astrophysics, nuclear & particle physics, biophysics, cognitive neuroimaging, condensed matter physics, and physics education.
