Provides the highest quality of customer service to the FIU community utilizing a variety forms of communication methods within flexible work hours as needed. The professional is expected to gain knowledge on all areas of enrollment services such as Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Financials. Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism that coincides with FIU's pillars of leadership: institutional knowledge, effective communication, operational excellence, continuous assessment, and performance management.
Responsibilities- Provides excellent customer service support through a variety of methods such as but not limited to telephone, email, live chat, and in-person to resolve questions and concerns from students, parents, faculty, staff, collegiate departments, and other third parties.
- Utilizes the university's student information system and related software and technology proficiently in the carrying out of duties. Assists with implementation, testing and improved efforts related to technology.
- Advises, investigates, problem-solves and resolves questions across the enrollment pathway in multifaceted activities associated with prospective and current students in areas of Enrollment Services including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration, Records, Retention, Graduation as well as other related student support services such as Advising, Orientation, etc. across all campus locations. Contacts student advisors, colleges or other university departments to clarify situations, as necessary;
intercede and/or advocate on the student behalf. - Provides efficient and effective referrals for students who need assistance from academic service areas by building active referral networks with academic service colleagues.
- Participates in the implementation and evaluation of individual strategies to enhance student services. Works collaboratively with other service specialists to identify individual service training needs to the supervisor. Demonstrating knowledge of, and support for University initiatives focused on recruitment, retention, and improved student services.
- Attends external and internal programs to represent FIU Financial Aid;
Admission and Registration as needed.
Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of experience.
