Temporary Health Educator Lead

Florida International University invites you to apply for the Temporary Health Educator Lead position under the Healthy Living Program (HLP) within Health Promotion Services (HPS).

Job Summary

The Healthy Living Program (HLP) seeks a Temporary Health Educator Lead to coordinate health promotion initiatives, supervise student health educators, and support program development and evaluation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Student Health Educators.
  • Assist in developing health promotion programs, identifying needs, campaigns, action plans, and creating curricula, trainings, and marketing materials.
  • Coordinate and conduct outreach activities, events, presentations, and workshops for the university community.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate health promotion and risk reduction events and programs.
  • Conduct presentations and workshops on topics such as stress and time management, sleep hygiene, sexual health, alcohol and drug use, and tobacco/nicotine education.
  • Provide individual consultations on stress management, time management, sexual health, tobacco cessation, asthma, allergies, sleep hygiene, nutrition, and substance use; document outcomes in the medical record.
  • Perform needs assessments, analyze programmatic and research data, and support dissemination and evaluation of institutional and national surveys.
  • Maintain program inventory, monitor use, and update records.
  • Train and supervise volunteers, interns, and student staff; recruit and retain student volunteers.
  • Develop health promotion campaigns and marketing materials such as event flyers, brochures, videos.
  • Document work performed, participant data, and evaluation summaries; submit reports.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support including answering phones, scheduling appointments, managing paperwork, and form processing.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years of office or related experience providing administrative support or coordinating functions of an office or department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience conducting health education/promotion programs in a university setting.
  • Experience working in a university setting.
  • One (1) year of health‑related experience.
Work Schedule
  • 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, with occasional nights and weekends.
