Location: New World School of the Arts

Employment Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Reports To: Dean of Dance, NWSA

Salary: $54.37 - Base Rate

This Adjunct faculty member teaches courses in Ballet and/or Modern Dance techniques. They may also choreograph and direct high school and college students in choreographic works. Experience or knowledge in Anatomy and Kinesiology, Dance Composition & Improvisation, and other dance academics is desirable.

Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery), and blended classes.

• Teach lecture and laboratory sections
• Evaluate and advise students
• Participate in departmental and college affairs
• Develop curricula
• Recruit students
• Serve on committees
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Master's degree in Dance from a regionally accredited institution or a Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in Dance
• Professional dance experience preferred
• Professional level dance teaching experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community, including high school, college and university level students
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multicultural environment
• Flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
