Miami Union Adventist Academy (MUAA) is seeking an energetic, mission-driven, and faith-centered Physical Education Teacher to serve students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels. This role is more than teaching physical activity—it is a calling to promote healthy lifestyles, discipline, teamwork, and character development within a Christ-centered educational environment.
The Physical Education Teacher provides instruction in physical education, personal fitness, and age-appropriate movement skills while fostering sportsmanship, responsibility, and respect. Depending on qualifications and experience, this position may also include the role of Athletic Director
, providing leadership and oversight of MUAA’s athletic programs.
Faculty at MUAA are fully engaged in the life of the school, participating in staff worships, collaborative meetings, professional learning opportunities, and school-wide activities. This position also plays a key role in supporting MUAA’s athletic culture by assisting with coaching various sports and supporting extracurricular athletic programs.
Beyond instruction, responsibilities include supervision duties, support of school events, collaboration with families and staff, and participation in student recruitment and community outreach. MUAA is supported by a committed school board, surrounding constituent churches, and a forward-thinking conference office dedicated to strengthening Adventist education in the Miami area.

Successful candidates will demonstrate many of the following qualities:
- Active Seventh-day Adventist teaching certification (or currently in the certification process)
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

- Knowledge of and commitment to best instructional practices
- Comfort with and adaptability to educational technology and digital learning tools
- Willingness to support after-school programs and extracurricular activities
- Clear, engaging, and confident teaching style
- A collaborative, “all-in” team-player attitude
- Commitment to Adventist Christian education and student spiritual development

Required Experience- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health, or a related field is required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Teaching certification required or in progress
- Practicing Seventh-day Adventist in good standing
- Coaching experience strongly preferred
- Athletic Director experience is a plus and may be considered based on qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to the holistic development of students—physically, academically, socially, and spiritually
