Responsibilities- Instruct secondary school students in all areas of drama/theatre, including history, acting, vocal training, movement, improvisation, play study, musical theatre, play production, play writing, stagecraft, costuming, and makeup.
- Use diverse teaching methods such as lectures, demonstrations, and performance direction.
- Provide instruction on sound equipment, lighting instruments, costuming, makeup, set design, and construction.
- Prepare course objectives, outlines, and instructional materials following curriculum guidelines.
- Assign lessons, assess student progress, administer tests, maintain attendance, and record grades.
- Inform parents of progress through reports and assigned final grades.
- Provide counseling for academic or adjustment problems.
- Maintain classroom discipline and meet with parents to discuss academic, social, and behavioral progress.
- Participate in faculty and professional meetings, in‑service classes, and perform additional related work as assigned.
Light work requiring activities such as climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, and repetitive motions. Exposure to noise and indoor hazards.
