The Senior Case Coordinators investigate and adjudicate reported violations of the Student Conduct and Honor Code, specifically academic and behavioral misconduct. This position will report to an Associate Director within SCAI.
- Reviews reported violations of the Code. Meets with students and reporting parties, conducts information sessions, and serves as a hearing officer for informal and formal hearings. Prepares related correspondence and maintains the confidentiality of student conduct records in accordance to federal, state, and university regulations.
- Complies with all university policies, procedures, and standards, and assures compliance with all state and federal laws.
- Maintains program files, data files and records for the purposes of data management and reporting.
- Reviews completion of sanctions. Adds or removes holds for sanction completion. Assists in the development and facilitation of educational sanctions.
- Informs students, faculty, and administration about policies and procedures under the Student Conduct and Honor Code. Develops and facilitates educational programs, initiatives, and campaigns related to the Code with the purpose of keeping the FIU community safe and protecting the value of the degree.
- Serves on departmental and university related committees, works cooperatively with colleagues on campus, and serves as a liaison to the campus and greater community.
- Assists in recruiting and training Student Conduct Committee members about processes, procedures, and rights outlined in the Student Conduct and Honor Code.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of appropriate experience, or Master's degree and one (1) year of appropriate experience.
- Master's degree in a relevant area including but not limited to education, higher education, communication or criminal justice, or related field.
- Experience in preparing presentations and workshops to educate students and faculty.
- Experience having developmental and difficult conversations with college students.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and policies related to the work, including FERPA, ADA, and Title IX.
