Coordinates and assists with the development of communications strategies, including marketing, media relations, and public relations projects that advance the objectives at the school and college levels, which also contribute to the University's mission and goals.
Responsibilities- Assists in the development of and executes communications strategies, including marketing, media relations, and public relations, for the College of Arts, Sciences & Education, advancing college goals while contributing to the University's mission and goals.
- Writes news stories in conformance with University guidelines focused on college priority areas including Environmental Resilience.
- Places news stories and op-eds in local, national and international media to publicize environmental resilience research and programs as well as other College of Arts, Sciences & Education priorities.
- Assists with college speakers bureau including identification of speaker opportunities, liaising with event organizers and booking faculty.
- Assists in the creation of collateral materials such as brochures, proposals, magazines and other promotional material for college priority areas.
- Develop social media content and assist with social media calendar planning and post reports.
- Develops reports for Dean presentations including board meetings, faculty assemblies and chairs & directors meetings.
- Assists with major events within the college focused on Environmental Resilience.
- Collects information needed for recurring reports and assists with development of the reports / presentations.
- Maintains frequent contact with academic and administrative officers of the schools within the college, as well as the greater University. Maintains flexibility and sensitivity to establish and maintain necessary rapport with all levels of personnel and external constituencies.
- Handles confidential matters concerning the college, the untimely disclosure of which would be detrimental.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media/Public Relations, Communications or appropriate degree and three (3) years of experience in a related field.
Desired QualificationsKnowledge of Adobe suite including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Salary$50,000-$60,000
Work Schedule- Begin time: 8:30 AM
- End time: 5:00 PM
