Job Summary

Provides support to undergraduate students to ensure academic, personal, and career success. Utilizes best practices to improve retention and graduation rates; offers individualized guidance and services; connects students to campus and community resources; monitors progress; coordinates workshops and enrichment activities.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with individual students to assess needs and refer them to relevant university resources such as housing, counseling, disability services, tutoring, financial aid, and career services to keep them on track for degree completion.
  • Monitor and record progress of individual students, maintain consistent and confidential records, and analyze data to inform decisions related to student advancement.
  • Advocate for students in university processes and services; collaborate with faculty and academic and non‑academic units to ensure attendance and engagement in classes, labs, tutoring, and campus activities.
  • Coordinate with Student Life & Development and other areas to integrate students into the university community.
  • Prepare students for graduation, post‑graduate plans, and career counseling; organize and lead workshops and student enrichment activities.
  • Participate in community outreach activities and support the recruitment process to attract and enroll students in college‑access programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of appropriate experience, or a Master’s degree in an accredited program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Higher Education, or a related field.
  • Experience counseling and advising undergraduate students.
  • Experience recruiting high‑school students and first‑time college applicants.
  • Experience preparing and delivering presentations.
