St. James Catholic School in North Miami, Florida, is hiring a candidate qualified to join our talented and professional team as a VPK/Pre-K4 Teacher for the current 2025-26 school year. The applicant must be a nurturing, creative, and dedicated professional with the ability to develop lessons that cultivate critical thinking skills, design instructions to motivate and engage all learners, and develop thematic units.

The VPK/ Pre-K4 Teacher performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on education and years of experience.

• Bachelor degree required, preferred in Early Childhood Education.
• Preferably have CDA or higher.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a pre-school classroom.
• Must have begun Part 1 and 2 of DCF training, having taken the competency exam for Part 1.
• Has taken all DCF VPK pre-requisite classes.
• After one year must have State 40 hours' childcare training with DCF completed, with all competency exams.
• Universal Precautions/ Exposure Plan course form DCF.
• Safe Sleep/ Shaken Baby Syndrome Training.
• Current CPR course.
• Proficiency in computer skills and email functions.
• Strength in creating a warm, welcoming environment for students and families. Ability to provide a hands-on approach enabling children to discover, learn, and critically solve problems about the world.
• Must be of good moral character and supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
