** CORE JOB SUMMARY
** The UMMG Pediatric GI/Hepatologist provides medical care to patients based on proper documentation in the medical record as outlined by the medical staff rules and regulations. The incumbent in this position receives patient assignments based on their educational discipline, expertise, or experience. Physician will work with the other transplant Hepatologists and critical care physicians in the Division of GI/Hepatology with responsibilities including providing direct patient care to pediatric outpatients at the Miami Transplant Institute faculty practice (including satellite clinics) and pediatric inpatients at Holtz Childrens’s Hospital/Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami.
He/she will also be involved with undergraduate and graduate medical education. Assumes responsibility for increasing knowledge and expertise by attending continuing educational offerings.

** Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment. Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience, especially in GI & transplant Hepatology, to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with staff, patients, and family members.
Must demonstrate the ability to meet responsibilities of the position.
Experience working and teaching in academic setting highly desired.
