Assistant Professor of Clinical - Interventional Radiology

The University of Miami Health System Department of Interventional Radiology invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Clinical – Interventional Radiology. The department is one of the largest and highest-volume IR programs in the country, offering a full spectrum of IR clinical procedures, training and research while serving over 21,000 patients per year. The role focuses on clinical care, research, and training of residents and fellows.

The faculty will provide service at multiple UM/JMH locations in Miami-Dade and Broward counties, including UHealth Sole Mia, UHealth Doral, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, UHealth Tower Hospital, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center – Plantation, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center – Deerfield Beach, Lennar Foundation Medical Center, and Jackson Memorial Hospital, with clinics at Desai Sethi Medical Center when appropriate.

• Interpret interventional radiology imaging studies and perform interventional procedures.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new and innovative interventional procedures.
• Evaluate pre- and post-intervention patients and contribute to the expansion of outpatient clinics for interventional procedures.
• Supervise the performance of technical personnel.
• Evaluate and consult new referrals and follow up patients in the IR clinic.
• Exercise quality assurance as related to the practice of interventional imaging.
• Provide interventional imaging consultations as requested.
• Provide emergency patient care as required in the Interventional Radiology practice.
• Be part of the on-call schedule in Interventional Radiology.
• Assume administrative responsibilities related to the practice of interventional imaging as assigned by the Chairman.
• Participate in teaching activities related to interventional radiology (residency/fellowship training, medical student education, technological radiology education programs, continuing medical education).
• Serve on Departmental, University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Medical Center committees and provide service as requested.
• Participate in research activities as an investigator and mentor.

• Education:
  
  Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School (or foreign equivalent).
• Certification and Licensing:
  Florida Medical License or equivalent;
  American Board of Radiology Certification;
  Completion of an ACGME-approved Fellowship Program in Vascular Interventional Radiology.
