Overview
University of Miami & Holtz Children’s Hospital - Division of Pediatric Cardiology is seeking a Pediatric interventional cardiologist. Applicants should have formal 4th year fellowship training in Pediatric interventional cardiology and must be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Cardiology. Current trainees are welcome to apply.
Laboratory and caseloadThe Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at the University of Miami performs 200 cases annually. Our cath lab offers a full range of interventions including VSD closures, premie PDA closures, transcatheter valve replacements for children, a full range of hybrid interventions and all standard transcatheter interventions. Interventions in adult congenital patients comprise about 20% of the volume. A brand new state-of-the-art pediatric cardiac cath lab has just been installed at Holtz Children s Hospital.
Responsibilities- Join the team working with the head of the cath lab to cover all pediatric and adult congenital cases.
- Perform interventional and diagnostic catheterizations.
- Participate in clinical, bench or translational research (strongly encouraged).
- Cover the general pediatric cardiology inpatient service and participate in the outpatient clinic.
- Opportunities for work with the Pediatric Transplant/Cardiomyopathy program at the University of Miami if there is interest in heart transplant and/or heart failure.
- Participate in general cardiology outpatient clinics, inpatient cardiology service, consults and occasional general cardiology call; contribute to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Formal 4th year fellowship training in Pediatric interventional cardiology.
- Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.
