Requirements
  • Must be an M.D. or D.O., Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, including subspecialty if applicable.
  • Must hold a medical license in Florida.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge in general Surgical Pathology and subspecialties, including intraoperative evaluations.
  • Effective communication skills for diverse professional teams.
  • Experience with quality improvement methods and tools.
  • Knowledge of JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA standards.
  • Ability to work independently, providing reliable diagnoses and recommendations.
  • Understanding of hospital procedures regarding hazardous materials and safety protocols.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care at UMH, JMH, SCCC, and satellites, focusing on assigned specialties.
  • Perform gross descriptions, tissue sampling, microscopic examinations, ancillary testing, and reporting.
  • Conduct Frozen Section diagnoses and autopsies as applicable.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and educational activities for residents, fellows, and students.
  • Engage in research collaborations and seek funding opportunities.
  • Maintain compliance with quality assurance, hospital policies, and regulatory standards.
