News Intern - Miami Herald​/El Nuevo Herald

Come to the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald to intern and you'll be in paradise with one of the best jobs in journalism. You'll hold politicians accountable, answer the latest health questions for your readers, and make a video of a place no one else can go to. You'll break the news and explain the issues.

Interns don't need world-shaking events to play a major role at the Herald. There's plenty of news to go around in their assignments on our investigative, visual, business, government, sports, public service, education, and health teams.

The details:

Internships are paid based on a 40-hour week
The schedule may include weekend or evening hours.
Work is performed mostly in person in the field or in our newsroom office.
Interns do not work holidays.
Internships cover a 10-week period, typically beginning in early June.
Interns should be currently enrolled in a college or university degree program, or have recently graduated
Interns must pass a drug test.

Interns must be able to work within the Miami market.

What we need from you:

• Resume
• A persuasive cover letter. Why should we pick you?
• Four to six samples of your work for writers, artists, and designers; 20 images for photographers, five videos from videographers. Or a combination of the above.
• The names of three references we can contact and ways to contact them. We do not require letters of recommendation.
