Our Miami studio is growing, and we’re looking for a Project Designer / Project Design Architect – Architecture to join our Architecture team.
About the roleThe Project Designer / Project Design Architect is at the forefront of shaping design narratives for world‑class hospitality and destination projects. This role serves as both visionary and strategic thinker, translating client aspirations into architectural concepts while balancing creativity with technical precision.
You will lead design efforts across all project phases, from early concept through construction documentation, ensuring innovative, functional, and contextually grounded design solutions that reflect OBMI’s standards of excellence.
This is a senior design leadership role within the studio, offering exposure to client engagement, team mentorship, and meaningful contribution to project acquisition and business development.
What you’ll do- Lead design concepts and spatial strategies for luxury hospitality and mixed‑use projects
- Guide facade articulation, material palettes, and architectural composition
- Interpret and develop client briefs through workshops and stakeholder engagement
- Produce and oversee drawings, BIM models, and visualizations (Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD)
- Ensure design deliverables meet QA/QC standards and OBMI benchmarks
- Mentor and support junior designers, fostering creativity and design rigor
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, landscape, and interior consultants to maintain design intent
- Collaborate with technical teams to translate vision into buildable solutions
- Review drawing sets, shop drawings, and submittals for design compliance
- Participate in construction administration and site visits as needed
- Support compliance with codes, accessibility, and sustainability standards
- Contribute to business development efforts and client relationship building
We’re seeking a design‑driven architect with strong leadership presence and deep hospitality expertise who can confidently guide projects and inspire teams.
You are:
- Equipped with 9–11 years of professional architectural experience, with a focus on hospitality and destination design
- A licensed or registered architect (AIA, RIBA, ARB, or equivalent)
- Experienced in hospitality programming, FOH/BOH planning, and brand standards
- Highly proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino (or similar 3D software)
- Skilled in Bluebeam and BIM coordination workflows
- Experienced in technical detailing, construction documentation, and consultant coordination
- Knowledgeable in materials, structural systems, sustainability principles, and regulatory frameworks
- A strong presenter and communicator, comfortable leading client discussions
- A mentor and collaborative leader who fosters high‑performing project teams
- Strategic, organized, and confident managing multiple complex projects
