Position Overview

The Adjunct Faculty member supervises students in clinical settings and teaches courses in various modalities: in‑person, live virtual, online, and blended.

What you will be doing
  • Prepare course schedules.
  • Evaluate and advise students.
  • Prepare exams and syllabus.
  • Monitor classే and maintain a schedule that allows for student meetings.
  • Schedule laboratory sessions for the skills component of the course.
  • Teach in lecture and laboratory settings; blended and virtual environments.
  • Disseminate information and recruit students for service‑learning initiatives.
  • Assess student performance in the clinical setting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field and a Certificate in Dental Assisting with Expanded Function (EFDA) from an ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program at a regionally accredited institution; and Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB); plus three (3) years of full‑time work and/or instructional experience as a Certified Dental Assistant.
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Possess excellent and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend assignments.
  • Ability to work in a multi‑ethnic/multi‑cultural environment.
