The Associate Producer is responsible for identifying news‑worthy stories, conceptualizing and producing rundowns, assisting in the production of live shows, preparing and calling supers for live broadcasts. Candidates must have a strong editorial background and be able to multitask in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. They need to work across multiple platforms—including broadcast, streaming, and digital—and may need to work weekends, early mornings, and flexible hours for last‑minute scheduling changes.
Responsibilities- Work live newscasts and special events.
- Assist in all aspects of production, from headline to segments, as needed.
- Request news graphics, including editorial and creative process.
- Prepare and call supers and titles in a live broadcast.
- Possess news gathering savviness and social media knowledge.
- Contribute to the editorial line of the day.
- Collaborate with Assignment Editors, Reporters, production crews, and the news digital team.
- Assign and produce news briefs.
- Work closely with Producers and Executive Producers on story planning and coordination.
- Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of experience as a Producer/Associate Producer in TV production and/or cable TV.
- Full fluency in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Prior work experience directing and guiding talent in video productions.
- Desired Characteristics:
- Strong editorial knowledge.
- Proven solid writing skills. Excellent grammar.
- Fully bilingual, Spanish and English proficient.
- Proficiency in I-News and other live‑news production systems.
- Proficiency in VIZ.
- Acquainted with teamwork and collaborating across all levels.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and visual storytelling ability.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to work weekends, early mornings, and flexible hours for last‑minute scheduling changes.
- Outside‑the‑box thinker.
