Job description:
The Project Manager is responsible for the life cycle of the projects within the region from turned over meeting to close out. The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating the execution of our projects by understanding the project, proactively ordering material and projecting man‑power in order to perform jobs that meet the project schedule and our budget.
Responsibilities:- Knowledge of plans/specs and other construction documents
- Knowledge on industry standard including fabrication, installation, codes and regulations pertaining to insulation
- Review mechanical, plumbing, and architectural drawings and specifications
- Evaluate projects to determine proper materials, applications, and scope of work and cross reference with the estimate/proposal from pre‑construction
- Create and conduct turnover meetings with project teams in order to review project specifics and to outline a clear path to perform the work meeting the project schedule and our budget
- Perform accurate quantity take offs for mechanical & plumbing systems based on customers shop drawings for material ordering
- Ensure all project requirements such as submittals, shop drawings, safety plans are properly completed complying with the contract documents
- Review and assist in developing the project schedule
- Monitor project progress/schedule to ensure compliance with contract schedule.
- Participate in labor forecasting and look ahead scheduling for the sheet metal division
- Track labor reporting and commitments on projects
- Division wide change order management
- Prepare project billings together with operations managers
- Tight interaction with billing coordinator to ensure positive cashflow on all Monthly AIA billings
- Monitor and analyze company metrics to ensure labor, material and profitability margins are being met
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Software knowledge (Microsoft Office programs, Bluebeam)
- Strong analytical and logic skills with the ability to maintain a high degree of precision on detailed work.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, field employees, vendors, and other contractors.
