Overview

We are a global construction and infrastructure company dedicated to building a better, safer, and more sustainable world. The Southeast Civil Division of OHLA USA specializes in highway, bridge, interchange, and marine infrastructure throughout Florida. We are seeking an experienced Superintendent in Marine, Civil or Building to join our team for the Port of Miami Project, a high‑profile, multi‑year design‑build marine construction project focused on reconstructing and realigning over 7,000 linear feet of bulkhead.

Responsibilities

The Superintendent will oversee day‑to‑day field operations for their assigned discipline—marine construction, civil/utility works, or structural/building elements—ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This position plays a vital leadership role in delivering the project safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

  • Plan, direct, and supervise daily field operations, labor, and subcontractors for assigned scopes (marine, civil, or building).
  • Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, quality standards, and OHLA USA safety policies.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Safety personnel to maintain safe and efficient jobsite operations.
  • Oversee and sequence field activities, including bulkhead construction, apron reconstruction, ground improvement, concrete structures, utilities, and terminal‑related building work.
  • Manage equipment, material deliveries, and manpower to maintain schedule and minimize disruption within active port operations.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce jobsite safety, environmental, and security protocols.
  • Review and approve timecards, daily reports, and quantities; track progress against the schedule.
  • Identify potential conflicts or delays and work collaboratively to develop solutions.
  • Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and ensure proper communication of goals, logistics, and safety requirements.
  • Support startup, testing, and commissioning activities for utilities and facilities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years of construction field supervision experience, preferably in marine, heavy civil, or building projects.
  • Proven ability to lead field crews and subcontractors on large‑scale infrastructure or design‑build projects.
  • Strong knowledge of marine construction methods (sheet piles, cofferdams, fender systems, dredging) and/or civil utilities and concrete structures.
  • Experience in marine, structural, or building scopes strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and means and methods.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with field management tools and Microsoft Office Suite; scheduling experience (Primavera or MS Project) a plus.
  • Commitment to OHLA USA’s safety culture and core values.
  • Must be eligible to work within a secure port facility; background screening and TWIC clearance required.
