Billing Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Billing Specialist to manage the full cycle of invoice and credit memo processing. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate billing, maintaining customer records, and supporting internal teams with billing-related inquiries.
Responsibilities
+ Generate and distribute invoices based on requests from the Binding and Sales teams.
+ Gather and verify billing data including amounts, discounts, and applicable tax rates.
+ Maintain up-to-date customer records with issued invoices and credit memos.
+ Process and track credit memos and billing exceptions.
+ Submit invoices via electronic data interchange (EDI).
+ Respond to billing inquiries from producers, Agency Assistants, CSRs, and Client Advocates.
+ Provide regular billing activity reports to management.
+ Maintain and update Specialty Lines sales tax calculations.
+ Conduct research to support accurate and complete billing.
+ Ensure high productivity and accuracy in all billing tasks.
+ Prioritize and organize workload to meet deadlines and avoid backlogs.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ High School Diploma required;
Associate degree in Business or related field preferred.
+ 2-4 years of billing or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
+ Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and maintain attention to detail.

Experience with Nexsure or AMS
360.
+ Insurance/Agency Billing experience.
+ Ability to navigate through Excel.
Work Environment
The work environment is an open office setting with flexible hours between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This position is located at 5200 Waterford District Drive, Suite 100, Miami, FL. Employees have the privilege to work 80% in the office and 20% from home after 90 days. The facility offers numerous perks, including Cuban coffee made daily, free transfers to the airport, and a complimentary service to local amenities like grocery stores and cafes.
Employees have access to a free gym on-site and can participate in weekly yoga classes and upcoming Pilates classes. Laptops, headsets, and accessories are provided to support your work.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
