As the Global Marine Segment Manager, Cruise
, you will develop the growth strategy for this segment. Within the cruise market you are responsible for our Drydock, Seastock and New Build proposition. As part of the execution, you will be a business developer side by side with the sales teams. You will work with sales, platform management, product management, marketing, technical, and supply chain functions. You will report to the Global Marine Sea Stock Segment Director.
Accomplish segment strategy based on understanding of customer needs, industry and competitive dynamics, and PPG position.
Improve knowledgebase of market landscape including market as a whole, segmentation of market, opportunities, current competitive landscape, and current PPG business and position within the market.
Industry and competitors: monitor and evaluate industry and competitor developments, marketing actions, products, position, and strengths and weaknesses to anticipate competitor response to SBU plans.
Be a central point to coordinate with other responsibilities within business to ensure segment strategies are globally implemented.
Plan and accomplish Business Development activities.
Functionally coordinate with regional sales managers to ensure mutual understanding of expectations.
Prepare segment targeted value propositions in collaboration with the regional sales, product, testing and certification and technical teams.
Collaborate with Marketing Communication teams to create the relevant content and cascade these into internal sales training and external sales and marketing activities.
Provide in-depth support for regions to identify and pursue opportunities, ensuring training and selling tools relevant to their segments are available and deployed.
Monitor the pipeline using resources like Salesforce and ensure important projects.
Ensure coverage and proper management of main accounts in sub-segment.
Qualifications- Network and equivalent relations in the Cruise market
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, business, or related degree.
- At least 10 years' experience in strategy, marketing, business development or sales within the coatings industry and cruise market.
- Proficiency in gathering and analyzing market intelligence.
- Assemble and organize multiple sources into a clear market assessment.
- Translate/measure data and other information and make reliable decisions on viable business prospect identification.
- Exposure to global business dynamics and the ability to guide implementation of required activities across all regions.
