** The University of Miami/UHealth Division Neuromuscular Program in the Department of Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time or Part-time statistical programmer to join an active clinical and translational research group focused on therapy development for Lou Gehrig’s disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS) in Miami, FL.

Job Summary
** The statistical programmer will be an integral member of the research team and provide programming support for the cleaning, summarizing/reporting, and analysis of research data. The statistical programmer will work most closely with the biostatistician and data managers.
** Core Responsibilities
*** Develop and implement strategies for real-time data QC
* Conduct routine data checks to ensure data integrity and completeness
* Write SAS macros and programs for data cleaning, reporting (e.g. tables, listings, figures), and the creation of analysis datasets
* Assist in the design and implementation of procedures (e.g. via programming, restructuring of data files, expansion of database components) to improve efficiency and support growth of the research program
* Perform statistical analyses defined in statistical analysis plans, as needed
* Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned

***** Core Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a closely related analytical field
* Experience in SAS programming
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize as necessary to meet deadlines
* Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
* Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
* Experience with relational databases (preferably MySQL) desired
* Knowledge of SQL desired
