The Center for Internet Augmented Research and Assessment (CIARA) at Florida International University’s Modesto Maidique Campus is recruiting students to join our team of professionals. The student assistant will assist with general office, financial, and administrative support.

Duties include:

• Preparation and processing of Travel Authorizations, Cash Advances and Expense Reports
• Preparation of requisitions and processing of invoices using Panther soft Financials
• Creating and updating Excel databases
• Assists with shipping of packages
• Prepares Property Forms as needed
• Assists with monitoring and reconciliation of monthly expenses
• Assists with reconciliation of University Procurement Card charges
• Assists in developing fiscal spreadsheets and computer-generated databases that serve budgetary needs within the department
• Interacts with the Controller’s Travel Division, Accounts Payables and other university departments as needed
• Assists with recruitment efforts
• Assists with scheduling meetings
• Prepares deposit slips for revenue checks received and delivers checks to the Cashier’s Office for processing
• Performs other related duties as required or as directed

• Current undergraduate students in business administration, accounting and related fields
• Knowledge of database systems
• Knowledge of FIU Panther Soft is a plus
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Experience making travel arrangements is a plus
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Power Point
• Organizational and time management skills
• Ability to create and manage spreadsheets
• Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally
• Team player
• Requires prior completion of FIU Service Excellence training or completion within the first 30 days

• Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
• Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
• Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.

• Monday-Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (20 hours a week)
• Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of department.

$15.00/Hour
