Job Summary

Provides high-level administrative, operational, and programmatic support to the Assistant Dean and Director in advancing the College of Law's initiatives. This position serves as a key point of coordination for program logistics, scheduling, communications, student support, and event planning related to trial advocacy programming, litigation skills training, Ensures the efficient day-to-day functioning of the program and contributes to the continued excellence and national visibility of the program.

  • Provides direct administrative support, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and preparation of correspondence and materials. Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external inquiries related to Trial Advocacy and Litigation programs, externships and pro bono. Maintains organized office systems, records, and confidential files in accordance with university policies.
  • Assists with the coordination of trial advocacy courses, litigation skills programming, externships, pro bono and co-curricular training opportunities. Including registration for externships. Works with registrar on approvals and processing completion of pro bono data for graduates. Supports student-facing activities, including communications with trial teams, program participants, and student organizations connected to advocacy and litigation, externships and pro bono. Coordinates onboarding and logistical support for adjuncts, faculty, coaches, and guest instructors in conjunction with College HR office.
  • Provides administrative support for advocacy competitions, workshops, guest lectures, and program events. Assists with event logistics including room reservations, travel arrangements, catering requests, materials preparation, and day‑of support. Supports planning and execution of internal and external trial advocacy competitions hosted by FIU Law.
  • Drafts and distributes program communications, announcements, and scheduling updates to students, faculty, alumni, and external partners. Assists in maintaining program‑related web content, marketing materials, and social media coordination as needed in conjunction with College Media office. Supports outreach efforts with alumni, community partners, and legal organizations engaged with the Trial Advocacy Program, Externships and Pro Bono Programs.
  • Assists with processing program‑related purchases, reimbursements, travel documentation, and budget tracking in coordination with the College's Finance offices. Maintains accurate records of program expenditures, supplies, and resource needs.
  • Supports compliance with university procedures and reporting requirements.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of office or related experience providing administrative support, or coordinating functions of an office or department; OR six (6) years of office or related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
