This someone will be an expert in a variety of facilitation methods and will help create organizational processes and learning activities to help establish our culture onboard our lovely ladyships. In other words, this someone needs to know how to Make Ship Happen. Your excellent attention to detail and self-starter mentality means you can think quick on your feet and keep calm when ship gets real.
Ultimately, we won't be able to remember how we got by without you.
- Support and coach supervisors and managers in the facilitation of on-the-job and non-technical skills training including e-learning, self-paced, and instructor-led learning programs.
- In charge of managing the update and maintenance of deformation records tracking databases to ensure compliance with company and regulatory training requirements ensuring they are accessible for audits and/or inspections.
- Support the People Director in succession planning, career paths, and tracking the development of employees for promotional opportunities.
- Implement and rollout training initiatives maintaining consistency throughout the fleet, according to company-approved content and direction.
- Maintain individual learning plans and training material for Crew members onboard.
- Manage and facilitate the onboarding learning journey for new Crew, ensuring that all necessary training requirements are undertaken and follow any necessary familiar clearfix checklists.
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team onboard to identify training programs that are satisfactory and relevant to all departments.
- Monitor and review training programs delivered onboard through questionnaires, discussions, and focus groups as required to ensure quality and consistency of delivery.
- Work with the Crew Office to ensure all required training certificates are valid and correct.
- Support People Director and other departments with any required events, drills, or Sailor-related activations as needed.
Required:
- Minimum 2 years experience in a Training & Development role, preferably onboard a Cruise Ship or within a large organization.
- BA Degree or equivalent in Training & Development, Teaching or Education or a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of adult learning theory, facilitation skills, blended learning, and participant engagement.
- Strong public speaking skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, changing environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Experience managing or working with an LMS is strongly preferred.
- All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position.
- Excellent command of the English Language.
- Strong work ethics and understanding of their miền responsibility as managers and role models.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to demonstrate a growth mindset.
