Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Financial Accountant (Services) #1508

Our client is a reputable financial services organization based in Miami that functions within a wider international corporate group, serving clients in multiple markets.

This is a compelling opening for a driven accounting professional looking to take on a high-impact role with broad accountability. The successful candidate will assume full ownership of the accounting function as part of a small but highly effective finance team.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their finance team and take ownership of the accounting operations for their Miami-based entity. Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while also contributing to accounting oversight for several smaller entities within the broader international group.

The position involves technically demanding work, including multi-entity reporting and financial consolidations, making a strong grasp of accounting principles essential.

This is a hands‑on role within a lean finance team and would suit someone who is highly organised, detail‑focused, and comfortable working autonomously while managing a broad range of accounting responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis in line with US GAAP
  • Coordinate with external auditors and develop supporting working papers for both interim and year‑end audit engagements
  • Execute month‑end and year‑end closing procedures, encompassing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance reviews
  • Contribute to the preparation of consolidated financial statements across the group's entities
  • Oversee trust account activity, including reconciliation of trust payables, receivables, and bank balances in compliance with relevant trust accounting standards and regulations
  • Run the full accounting cycle, covering accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad‑hoc financial analysis
  • Compile management reporting packages on both a monthly and quarterly cadence
  • Administer bi‑weekly payroll processing and support benefits‑related tasks
  • Uphold compliance with internal controls, established accounting policies, and applicable regulatory standards
  • Proactively seek out and implement improvements to processes, including automation initiatives and reporting upgrades

Required:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
  • At least 3–5 years of hands‑on, progressive full‑cycle accounting experience
  • Solid command of US GAAP; working knowledge of IFRS considered a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • Prior experience managing trust accounts
  • Skilled in accounting platforms and the Microsoft 365 suite, with particular strength in Excel

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with multi‑entity consolidation processes
  • CPA credential or equivalent professional designation – highly encouraged given the technical nature of the role
  • Prior experience within private industry environments
  • Hands‑on experience with XERO accounting software
  • Professional background in financial services, insurance, or another regulated sector
  • Base Salary: $75,000 – $115,000 depending on experience and qualifications
  • Quarterly Performance Bonustied to defined objectives
  • 401(k), healthcare, and additional benefits
  • Hybrid work schedule: 4 days in office, 1 day remote
