Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, including cash, AR, AP, fixed assets, and accruals.
- Prepare and post journal entries and adjusting entries.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Review entries and reports prepared by the Accounting Assistant for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
- Support audits, tax filings, and other external reporting requirements.
- Identify process improvements to increase accounting efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (Minimum an Associate Degree in the field)
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a small or mid-sized corporate environment.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
- Proficiency with accounting software (eg, Quick Books) and Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
