Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing ASC 842 lease accounting, supporting acquisition‑related activities, and contributing to complex technical accounting areas. This role reports to and works directly with the Accounting Manager leading Technical Accounting and works cross‑functionally with Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, and Legal.
This position blends hands‑on responsibilities with advanced technicalexpertiseacross multiple cost centers, safeguarding the integrity of financial reporting through rigorous analysis and adherence to U.S. GAAP. The Senior Accountant willbe responsible forASC 842 lease accounting, acquisition‑related support, and other technical accounting areas as needed.
El Car Wash is a fully on‑site position at our Doral, FL headquarters.
No two days are the same, but a day inthelife might include:- Manage end‑to‑end ASC 842 lease accounting for a large, multi‑location portfolio
- Maintain and administer Visual Lease, ensuringaccuratelease setup, modifications, reassessments, and reporting
- Support acquisition integrations, including lease onboarding and opening balance sheet analysis
- Assist with debt roll forwards and related schedules
- Support sale‑leaseback evaluations and other non‑routine or judgment‑heavy transactions
- Assist with month‑end close, including reconciliations and lease‑related journal entries
- Participate in audit support, providing required documentation and responding to audit inquiries
- Partner with the AP Manager leading Technical Accounting on ad hoc technical accounting research and process improvement initiatives
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to strengthen processes andmaintaineffective internal controls
- Reconcile monthly lease payments to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
- Must have current month‑end close experience (e.g., prepaids, accruals), including preparing and recording journal entries and performing/reviewing account reconciliations to verify transaction accuracy and resolve inconsistencies
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 3–5+ years of relevant accounting experience with a strong technical focus
- Strong knowledge of ASC 842 and real estate lease accounting
- Experience with or exposure to lease accounting software, preferably Visual Lease
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDIRECT, and other complex formulas)
- Quick learner, self‑managed, and proactive
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Experience with acquisitions and/or debt roll forward
- Experience with sale‑leaseback transactions
